Faden Quartz

Size: 2cm to 3cm 

Faden Quartz is a unique type of Quartz. The crystal typically grows in the crevices of rocks. However, when any movement between these rocks happens (for example, movement of tectonic plates) the crystal will have had a disruption in its growth and connection to the rock.  It will then start to re-grow to bridge the gap between the two rocks. 

You can typically notice a Faden Quartz by the feather like line within the piece. This is where the crystal will have stopped to form and then re-started again. With larger pieces in can create a string like effect.
